Eden

Eden

A Poem by Noah Cole
"

The perfect land

"

I have closed my eyes when the sun sleeps

Once the moon has emerged from behind the mountains

In those moments where time seems to stand still

And the people rest their weary forms

It is in these times that I’ve shut my eyes

And I have seen fields of high foliage

Each blade and leaf the deepest olive

Blue skies above me

And not a cloud in sight

There is a breeze so gentle

It caresses every hair

In this land, one can see for miles

In this land, anyone would feel at home

Where does such a place exist?

Where could there be such a paradise?

It is a land where every tree holds endless fruit

And farms would prosper year round

It rains whenever it is needed

With water that is crystal clear and pure

Lakes are rich with fish

And surrounded by the whitest sand

The serenity of this place is unmatched

It is a wonderful land, a flawless land

To dwell in such a realm

Would be beyond perfection

If only such a land existed somewhere,

Somewhere beyond my dreams
