A Mask

A Mask

A Poem by Mordainia

My soul aches, missing you so deeply my heart breaks.
I know we will be together soon, but I'm tired of leaving.
My smile, like a mask, can be so deceiving,
But the distance has left me grieving.
This is a period of growth and renewed chance.
I seem like a new me at first glance.
Though i strive for honesty, I wear a mask.
Trying to hide the pain of this task.
I'm getting better but struggling.
Over the brim, emotion is bubbling.
I'm thankful for everyone who's stuck by my side,
I'd still be lost without those in which I confide.
