Someday

A passion hidden inside the corner of your heart will swell and burst

and your chest will ache because it is beating to a deep and unsteady echo 

that only you can hear 

and your restless legs will stir and shake until you get up and walk 

and you will hurt because the path is steep 

and jagged rocks and wooden splinters rend the soles of your feet 

you will climb, desperate to find the somewhere you have never known 

and when your ascension is great enough 

you will see other peaks and summits 

all in a gaze 

measureless 

it will stretch your heart 

and small 

so you can hold it.
