Red Summer Hues

Red Summer Hues

A Poem by BriBri
"

A poem inspired by Langston Hughes' " A Dream Deferred"

"
What happens to a caged bird?

What happens to a bird that can't sing?
Does it still dance to the church bell ring?
Will the whistle Emit a tuneless tone
Till the beak turns into a ruthless bone
Does the wind feel like a cool North breeze
Or head South to hang in blood soaked trees

"What happens to a bird that can't sing?
Does it still dance to the church bell ring?"
Those lines remind me of the question i think every broken hearted girl asks herself, what happens to my broken heart? Will it ever be whole again? Will the tears ever stop or the bitterness ever end? Nice write Bri
