In moment

In moment

A Poem by Shane William

Fingers separating
the glow of the sun
split into rays
Is it warmth I feel?
The pollinated air
kisses the back
of my throat
as I admire the
sway of the tree tops
I wish to be so
lazily with the breeze
Not a complex thought
to seize my mind
I wish to be...free.

I really appreciate the angles you take to get where you're going. Your pace is slightly disjointed, but you actually manage to draw your audience in with your cadence...many times that is not the case in less skillful hands. I've read a number of your pieces and will continue to do so. Nice work.

Sometimes we don't need the complex; the simple is enough to satiate. I love the imagery in this one. I've often done exactly what you have described, and I could feel the warmth, see the trees, and I too wanted to be lazy and languish in the moment with you. Well done, yet again.

Hey Shane! Thanks for looking at my poetry; I forgot I was even on this site! I love the subtle rhythm in this poem, how each line is a fragment of a thought. Very beautiful writing.
