Hello, Mr. Lonely

Hello, Mr. Lonely

A Poem by Nicole Renee

Hello Mr. Lonely,

I don’t like your expected visits

And the charitable things that you

Think will make me feel better.

I’m sick of feeling my heart filling up,

Filling up with the liquid that you give to me,

Constantly thinking about how it is when

You have nothing to hold in your hands

Or to have that wrapped around your whole being;

Or to have what you cherish touch you upon the lips.

Well, let me tell you something…

I’m sick of it all, and I want happiness

To fill my heart up instead of you,

To let it consume me with bliss,
And anything else besides

What you have to offer.

So back off, and let me live

Without your presence.
