Hold me back.

Hold me back.

A Poem by October

Destruction was on your driveway.
When I drove away, Yesterday.
A bird crowed.
Deeper in my mind you dove.

You breathe to provide.
But I’m too terrified.
It’s the things I hide…

You kissed me.
You said you missed me.
I blame the past.
Everything fell apart too fast.

If you want me,
Hold me back.
Save me when the demons attack.
Make up for all the things I lack.
And when I get up to go,
Hold me back.
Hold me back.

You were there that day.
You saw it in my eyes.
You were there the day
My heart tore.
Now they call me a w***e.

I’m in a constant search within my mind.
Whatever I had before,
I can’t find.

I’m broken.
And you’re blue.
So, what’s new?

You breathe to provide.
But I’m too terrified.
It’s the things I hide…

If you want me,
Hold me back.
Save me when the demons attack.
Make up for all the things I lack.
And when I get up to go,
Hold me back.
Hold me back.

If you want me,
Hold me back.

Broken bones were on your driveway.
When I drove away, Yesterday.
Paper hearts and plastic tears.
I’ll regret you in a few years.

I took a knife.
Held it your throat.
You just love me more,
When I walk out your door.

The evidence is on your driveway.
I saw it when I drove away, Yesterday.
Stop the voices in my head,
And I’ll turn around.
But you can’t make a sound.

I don’t blame you.
Destruction is what I do.
It was on your driveway.
Yesterday.

I blame the past.
Everything fell apart too fast.

If you want me,
Hold me back.
Save me when the demons attack.
Make up for all the things I lack.
And when I get up to go,
Hold me back.
Hold me back.

If you want me,
Hold me back.
