Do You Really Even Care

Do You Really Even Care

A Poem by Mary E. Green
"

wrote this at like 4am one day

"
4 in the morning
And I can't sleep
Been up since 2
And I can't breathe
Too many things going through my mind
Too much self loathing
For the wrongs I have done
And so much doubt with what's going on
Don't even know where to begin
For I have too many questions
On what is to come

(Do you really even care)

My heart is pounding
My mind reeling
Can't figure out how to change
The way things are
I don't even know how we ever
Came to this point
Living a lie
Faking a smile
A touch
and an "I love you"

(Do you really even care)

Such is the life when the mind can't shut down, and it gets even worse if depression is to blame. You capture the feelings of one who needs to know that someone really does care, and you did it artfully here.
