I met a girl

So I met this girl,

And she changed my world,

For the good and bad,

 

A connection like no other,

There was no one quite like her,

She was one of a kind,

 

It was hard to just be her friend,

But I would have fought it to the end,

Because I couldn’t let her go,

 

I didn’t mean to give her my heart,

She didn’t mean to rip it apart,

But she did,

 

All that’s left now is sadness,

Emptiness, confusion, madness,

I still can’t understand why,

 

They say I need to move on,

That’s easier said than done,

Too many memories to forget,

 

Our friendship was great while it lasted,

It’s going to be hard to get past this,

But I know I can,

 

And maybe, just maybe, someday,

She’ll throw a hello my way,

And I’ll be able to smile again.

This poem touched my heart..They say I need to move on,That’s easier said than done,Too many memories to forget.. Each word in every stanza was full of emotion. But like the old saying goes people enter our lives for a reason for a teaching for what ever reason there is ...wish you all the best.

Been there, did that, bought the tee-shirt. You really caught all those feelings a person goes through, falling in love, often against your will, or against common sense, but, still it happens. And when it ends, it is devastating. Well written.
