My friend

My friend

A Poem by Sara Muschweck

Written for Pam

This tear is for walking beside me when I was so unsure of myself, standing with me when loss was so great around me.

Another Tear for not being able to feel your breath on my cheek any longer, your soft lips against my hands.

This tear is for all of the days you brought peace to my mind, when chaos was my world.

One for the unconditional love you gave me, that often I was afraid to give to anyone else.

This is for the Pride in watching you grow, seeing your strength, knowing that your beauty would forever be unmatched.

For seeing you at your weakest, coming to terms with being helpless to change the outcome.

These many tears for your last breath.  The soul crushing silence that surrounded me in that instant.

This angry tear is for losing my best friend, my joy, my comfort.

Standing at this mound knowing that you will be home, in this place you were born, raised, and loved.

These tears are for you my friend, my heart, my strength.  You will always be the part of me that is pure love
