But Why?

But Why?

A Poem by Ollie
"

FTM transgender poetry. Boys can be feminine! Feminine FTM trans guys are still guys, it doesn't matter what they wear or do.

"
I want them to call me a 'he', these days.
"But why?" a sad, cold woman asks-
"You've always enjoyed the most easy of tasks,
the sewing and cooking and playing with dolls,
and wearing mascara and dresses and shawls!"
"But why?" a laughing man asks-
"You'll be the joke of the town,
changing to suits from dresses and gowns,
they'll never accept you, they'll never agree
to call you a 'he' when you are a 'she'!"
"But why?" a nosy neighbor asks-
"You're strong in the church,
you've got lots of friends.
As a 'he' you'll be lucky to just meet ends-
your mother will weep while your father cries-
their little girl has turned into a guy.
At schools the boys will mock you,
and girls will turn and stare,
neither bathroom will accept you,
then will you start to care?"
And it's true, I wear makeup and dresses and cook,
I like baking and sewing and writing and books,
but I'm a boy, through and through, though I was born like a girl,
perhaps feminine, but not female, I am sure.
