Train Journey

Train Journey

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Train Journey

They sleep.

Some playing catch up,

some to shrink the journey;

condense the monotony

or avoid the stranger’s stare.

Some sleep in tranquility,

not a worry to disturb such slumber.

Yet others have tortured dreams

that rack their souls

and make them wish

they could escape this commute.

I love this poem. It is (nearly) perfect to my ear. One tiny tweak I would suggest, and as always, it is up to you, to make up FOR? loss seems to flow better to me.:)
