Red Wine

Red Wine

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

Red Wine

Judge and jury;

and executioner.

You ended it so quick,

put me into my misery;

again.

I gave myself,

my faith,

my heart,

my love.

But you let fear take you,

the past sway you;

to give you an excuse

to withdraw to your sanctuary.

The place you have created,

where you can hide away

behind your work,

solitary country walks,

the thick stone walls of your cottage

and red wine.

AND serious hangovers if consumed in excess, one need not presume, red wine might be rich in flavanoids, John but, lying on the floor with blue lips and nausia might have disrupted this beautifully crafted poetic plan somewhat, methinks.....

love can be given, but it must be received. A heart and mind not willing is no fitting receptacle for such a gift. :)

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
