FathomA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenSometimes, just sometimes it is easier to stay down. There are no crests on my waves, just profound, dark troughs where only those who can go deep, those equipped to hold their breath long enough to free dive, can survive. It is a rarefied and wondrous world without oxygen, but nature allows it to support life forms. Many alien like creatures, colourful, swift bottom feeders who strive to stay away from the light. Their complex markings, stings or poisonous quills protecting them from vigilant predators. It is here with them, in this eerie cold, black, silent and godless place that I find peace. 24/03/19 © 2019 John Alexander McFadyenAuthor's NoteReviews
