Mr. Monochrome’s Redemption

Mr. Monochrome’s Redemption

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee

Mr. Monochrome’s Redemption

Deceived by a singular mindset

The grey tones of his lifestyle

Displayed a melancholic narrative

Bleach white repetitive routines

Contrast against the black moods

Voluminous opposites in conflict

Without rainbow enlightenments

His present ashen modus vivendi

Snail trailed on a very insipid path

Through charcoal tinged spectacles

All beauty was obscured to vision

A tragic result of foregone issues

Even past burn down relationships

Hung vertically on wardrobe hangers

Like chessboard painted string ties

Miraculously by chance encounter

A poetess’s magnificent wordplay

Presented itself right before him

Her colourful kaleidoscopic prose

Ripped grey cataracts from eyes

Awakening inexperienced emotions

From her clear creative expressions

His stoneware heart began to pump

A world of colour through his soul

Now he could smell all life’s verses

From the scents of her imaginations

A liberating instance to be savoured

From this point on embracing change

A new meaning of existence sprang

And all from feminine rainbow persona

It's always nice to know when the grey is replaced with colourful lens.... it does make all the difference....
But I guess balance is required so that we don't end up viewing everything through rose tinted glasses...( especially me...i keep telling myself)

As always it's very much like your master pieces.... done with so much care and perfection.... like the use of relations hanging in the hangers....you made me imagine dead bodies on hangers... :p just bit dramatic imagination

Life without colour sure is monotonous.... and love fills those missing blanks... it sure does.... and your poem reflects it beautifully...

Thank you for sharing it with us...

My grateful thanks from 'ere in 'ampshire to my Dorzet friend … :-)
This is a fine write, beautifully penned. So many good lines. It is amazing how a good relationship can change the colour of our days. Love can certainly replace the monotone. Kaleidoscope prose, fabulous imagery. Really enjoyed this Phill, excellence here.

monochrome becomes kodachrome...as paul simon would sing.

a colorless world becomes one of vivid, living color when love replenishes it...

we just have to let love in again.

beautiful, allegorical piece.
