Opening Heaven

Opening Heaven

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Opening Heaven

Pouring out love divine,

He stilled time.

Fulfilling the dream

Which God wanted to be.

Sinless, yet He surrendered to the sinner’s death,

Suffering so we could be blessed.

Communion with the Father,

Opening Heaven with the Living Water.

Jesus held the world in His heart

As He made light in the dark.

Giving of Himself

So we may have eternal wealth.

With His last breath,

Christ gave His best.

Love spilled out,

Opening Heaven with a shout.

Soon, the grave was overturned

And the Light forever burned.

Believers in awe,

Sinners are graciously called.

Well pleased, He ascended to the Father of truth

Having delivered me and you.

Our Lord gave love with no end…

Opening Heaven.
