SILENT COMMUNITY

SILENT COMMUNITY

A Poem by Rene Velez

I am one
in a silent community
ink blots towering high
letters over buildings
words behind the eyes

feet planted
no permission granted
we slip through the lies
when love is willing
sentences come alive

fingers in a universal hold
pain we do not withhold
the emptiness we are filling

share inside what you will
in the self we fulfill
and inside we grow
finding that mighty foothold
that cleanses the soul

Great opening stanza. Always growing on the inside. Nice piece.
