HER SEAS

HER SEAS

A Poem by Rene Velez

the fight has left me weary,
teary eyed with emotions
reserved for braver men
and her nails are red again
from the deep wounds she has inflicted,
I am restricted
to her beauties embrace,
I have touched her mirrors
and have lost face
in her woven design,
her touch sublime
like snow through miseries windows,
the widower of her devotion
an ocean best left
to the dead sailors of the sea
I am on wounded knee
balancing on the unsteady planks
of her mind, in her chimes,
the death of time,
holds no ground,
love holds no bounds,
only the traps of her beauty
her unsoothing melodies,
my self made remedies,
tripping stupidities
in love with demons of lust,
I, in the cusp of mercy,
but I am not worthy
for she casts her loneliest lights...
for the dead sailors of the sea

Puts a mans place in perspective and the fact that they are allowed to feel through your pen is more than admirable. Truth laced and dangerously potent....loved it.

How many thoughts are hidden in this post .. how many truths and emotions cleverly wrapped in metaphors. How well you've written about that world of storm and calm, dark and light Seems to me that you've swept life into an erratic flow of everything Mistress Sea holds from surface to bed and - done so beautifully. '.. to her beauties embrace, ~ I have touched her mirrors ~ and have lost face ~ in her woven design, '
