Missing My Angel

When, at times I'm siting free

I ponder upon my destiny

What I am growing up to be

What situations am I to see

The thought of confusion pulls me down

It always ends in cries and frowns

Feel's like there's darkness all around

Feels like I've lost my battleground

Defeated, now I'm the damsel in distress

It just leads to more pain and stress

I try to give myself some rest

Because I know that will be best

All colors seem to fade away

Till you, my angel, come my way

And comforting words of love you say

You make me happy and brighten my day

And now, when I need you, I see you no more

And I miss you from my heart's deep core

To all my happiness you've closed the door

And I just sit here, sobbing on the floor

Author's Note

This poem is dedicated to my Grandma (Dad's mom) who passed away three years ago. I'm just sad because I didn't get to spend these years with her, when I would have gone to her for advice and... I miss her a lot...
This is probably the longest poem I've ever written, all my other poems are shorter. Please tell me what you think about this one... I'd love to see reviews!!!

It's hard to describe one's thoughts and feelings of those we love and care for. It's harder still to bring this message across and make people understand just that. And yet, here I read a rich recipe stuffed with emotions which makes me both hungry and full. All I can say, your grandma will taste this recipe for sure.

Well this is just gorgeous. I love the rhyming scheme, it's hard to write four lines that rhyme like that and get your point across clearly, but you've managed it perfectly! This is so poignant and passionate, a really moving piece. Thank you.

oh... I found out that I could actually write when I was in 5th grade.. my teacher read one of my essays and she liked it, I guess... she read it out to the whole class... That's when I started! :P

Away, my ears are blasting! There is a parked car outside my house whose horn wire is spoilt or something, and it is continuously honking for the past two hours! The owner of it is no where in sight! Ban loud horns!

I know the feeling.. Kinda reminds me of the time when my uncle brought his own car which had an alarm that was sensitive to touch. My sister was much younger back then and she was fascinated by the car's alarm. She kept on touching it and we had to hear the alarm several times, before we discovered what was happening! :P

I've bought this new diary where I'm copying down all my poems from Cafe and my rough note books, and all those papers which are going to tear any moment, just like my Dad's diary. My dad used to write poems too, you know. I have his diary. He's amazing, but he doesn't write anymore... I wish he did! :)

So poetry seems to flow in your blood! I don't know if my dad used to write or not, but I'm sure my mom didn't. She is not at all into literature, books, or much less writing...she's more of a science and comp kind. I don't know too much about my dad actually, but I bet your dad must be as good as you describe!

Honestly, I don't know all about my dad that much ... and poetry flows in my blood? Maybe, I guess... My dad has been away since I was 6! Because he works in different places and gets transferred.. we're in doon for our education, basically.
