Over Again

Over Again

A Poem by Aehr

Once upon a blue moon, once upon a rhyme,

Once upon a monsoon, once upon a time,

Broken hearts decided to heal, to shove away all the pain

To let the tears melt down quietly with the rain

To let the heartache give way to a better day

To let the darkness slip stealthily away

And the water drops washed away all the sadness left behind

It destroyed all the darkness that it could find

And wounds decided to heal, in spite of the scars

All worry and anguish flew up to the stars

A second chance was awarded to everyone by the rain

A second chance, to get up, and start over again

We need places and situation to lose pain and sadness. I like the above lines. Pain must be release so we can see the hope and opportunity in a new day. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Wow! Nice poem.

To some, the rain is a metaphor of sadness...like the tears flowing from someone's eyes. I like the concept...an irony that the rain gives a second chance to start all over again...because after the rain there will be a better day.

Good job!

Yes there is truth in this piece. Letting the rain wash away the pain and offer up a second chance. Well penned.

I like the imagery of the rain, washing away the old to make way for that second chance. Your rhythm is well done, though it is a bit bumpy in the middle. Easily tweaked, I think, without changing any meaning. Well done, Rhea!
