Acceptance

Acceptance

A Poem by RivaRazdan
"

This poem narrates the events that lead to the creation of a strong female personality, unafraid and unyielding.

"
With a head filled with dreams
and a backpack filled with "stuff"
she waited by the window
for her father to come.

Her twinkling eyes never wavered
from the road that lay ahead.
But every vehicle that passed by
only multiplied her growing dread.

the angelic smile drooped,
forehead furrowed with a frown.
twiddling her toes that dangled
a little above the ground.

As it grew dark her mother arrived.
Unloaded the backpack and put her to bed.
She silently wept at the innocence of her child.
her insatiable love that demanded to be fed.

She waited and waited, every year hence.
Till hope gave way to anger and love gave way to pain.

She became independent
and led a jolly good life
and never trusted again.
