Ashes

Ashes

A Poem by RûbbërSøul

Minding my business
Slowing my stride
Following my thoughts
On an endless ride
Exploring my wants
My every desire
And just like a dream
New visions transpire
Words played to me
Through a lyrical Lyre
My mind lights up
I've become a live wire
My pen strikes the pad
As I scribble with ire
I get the words down
As the page catches fire
Still I keep writing
Adding rhymes to the pyre
'Til my pen runs dry
And my brain does tire
I can't help but smile
As the flames grow higher
And my words float away
For the Gods to admire

Wonderful read. I loved the transition of elements from water to fire. The rhyming meter is pretty decent, too.
