A Love That Must End

A Love That Must End

A Poem by Sammy
"

I wrote this last year after a relationship I had, lets just say it didn't work out like I'd expected and it happened to get worse I dumped him. A year later and I'm glad to say its over with.

"

Out for a walk at midnight,

With a companion by my side

Stars dancing and prancing,

My emotions cannot hide

Secrets shared with humorous words

Ecstasy overtaking

Running down the street, arms in the air,

A kinship in the waking

Something flies past,

He pulls me strong and swift

Thrusts me towards him,

And gives me a pleasant gift

He holds out his hand

Places it over mine

Drops a parcel in my palm

A bracelet that would shine

We share a smile with simple words

I begin to step away

But he pulls me back, like a wave

Then delivers another gift, with no delay

We soon arrive at our destination

Then from this sleepless dream I wake

I look to the distance and begin to wonder

What other risks will I take…

We climb in through a portal

And hide out in his room

I lay on the bed in his arms

The love is beginning to bloom

Then my hand is forced

To do the things I wouldn’t

I forgive him for what is done

Although I know I shouldn’t

There is a loud noise in the next room

He checks if the coast is clear

He tiptoes back through the threshold

He mumbles but I do not hear

I relax back down upon the bed,

He enters with a bottle, poison?

I take a sip of the vial drink straight

I feel the burn down my throat, poison…?

He pushes me down upon the bed, and begins to kiss me

He can taste the poison running through me

He shares a way to dispose of the taste

But I strongly disagree…

Held down unable to move

Stuck in the limelight, centre stage

Trying to turn to a different page

His lust grows stronger, he wants more

I strive to push him off, onto the floor

He gets even stronger I’m chained to the bed

At that moment I almost lost my head

He looked down at me

With his piercing blue eyes

And laughed as if it were a joke

Suddenly I could see through the lies

Scarred with fear

Struggling to break free

I bash his side with my knee

And away I do flee

But away is never far enough

You find me, a diamond in the rough

You grab my hand

And walk me to my base

Still shaken inside

I look away from your face

You danced with me

As cars passed by

You wouldn’t stop touching me

I was dying inside

We began to hurry

For it was getting quite late

We reached my base

Climbing back in post haste

Five am early dawn

I rest my weary head

I’m tired and feel guilty

And hoping I’ll end up dead

I awaken two hours later

With tears from a dreadful night

I can’t get the image out of my head

Seeing as I had to put up a fight

Days pass by

And I put our love to an end

I said farewell my love

Now you’re my fair-weather friend

There are no words to describe how I feel about this poem,
it was amazing!
How everything is connected, and how it rhymes.
All the emotions that take over and how everything just looks right!
Good Job!
