Parachute

Parachute

Parachute

Today.

I stood in my kitchen,

each foot bare on the floor,

thinking of you,

between blinking tears dripping through the steam.

How unfair and abrupt (though isn’t it always?)

to have ended so sadly,

without a parade of arguments,

beyond the pomp and circumstance of a knock-down, drag-out fight,

like a dandelion seed merely disappearing on the silent wind.

“Thinking Out Loud” is stuck on repeat in my head,

As absolute as a fake flower in the dry sand,

buried because you never knew,

where all the flowers bloomed, in the visiting space between us.

The tears spread as fire in the pool below,

launching out in unnoticeable waves to the edge…

Where you were.

I clearly see now what was going on,

through mine eyes crusted as tar.

The garden that suffocated between us

where nothing else compared…..

and I was your best, loyal subject,

and you were my perfect, amazing muse,

And no one could touch the invincible,

between that which became us.

Where we wanted to go was not meant for real.

Away to a different room.

Home.

Again.

I read the words... feel this pain... this longing... your reflections of the beauty and fire that was... and the aching for what it could have been... such bittersweet hues.... Making me wish some magic could come and turn it all back into beauty again.. and let it have a second chance... this love so sweet and deep...

I really like this. It touched my heart. Here's one of my favorite lines: beyond the pomp and circumstance of a knock-down, drag-out fight,
like a dandelion seed merely disappearing on the silent wind.

Thank you so much for your review, Kena! So glad to see you again. I appreciate you. Happy New Year!
Yes...it is what it is...and...it takes what it takes.

Keep writing those rushes of words that flood your mind in only seconds, but keep your hand writing for long minutes, or sometimes even hours.

There are no limits to the pain we receive from the stories we live. No matter what each story is, and how it unfolds, when the main character exits, we are left with nothing else, but a simple figment of our memories.
Painful write Seriana!

vulnerable, standing undressed in bare feet is the emotion that tugs on my tears …. makes my throat close up. how elegantly raw your imagery, as though from a step away to allow disclosure to …… self. how gently your words turn to clarity, perhaps on the way to defining acceptance. i found your metaphor to the silence of dandelion seeds on the wind particularly moving ~ nearly undoing. such loveliness unfolding such exquisite hurt without fear of vulnerability is so your signature, mon ami. you have ‘way.’ masterful, as honesty and bravery always is. xo
