A Prayer

a prayer from a lifetime ago

It all seems so far away

All the memories are weird

It’s all so real

But it feels like it’s not

It seems like a dream

One that Haunts when thoughts reoccur

Everything is better

Except these occasional thoughts

They haunt me and hurt me

Our relationship is great

And the thoughts are almost gone

My parents always fuss

Locked in a never ending torrent

This never ending hell

Stuck forever

Things will get better

Four more years
