Sleepless Night

Tossing and turning, restlessness causing my eyes not to shut.

sleep is calling out to me, I'm struggling to answer it.

The thoughts in my mind are racing and they don't know it's time to stop.

The hours go by slowly on that old ticking clock.

Right now I should be fast asleep and dreaming but I just can't seem to do it no matter how hard I try or how much time goes by, my eyes won't shut and sleep is eluding me.

The sleep that is calling my name isn't being answered cause' I'm tossing and turning in my bed... Restlessness has won tonight and sleep hasn't found me yet...

Here comes now the morning sun, telling me my time is up..

Sometimes sleep just wont come no matter how much we need or want it to. I hate just laying there.

Lol. I fall asleep watching a movie, that seems to help a lot.

I fall asleep to music usually but it doesn't always work

A well expressed experience that we have all shared. Don't know about you but I often find I fall asleep so deeply when it is almost time to rise!

Oh yeah, I get this all the time. I suffer from mind chatter and restless leg syndrome. I haven't had 8 hours of sleep in years. Good poem.
