One Black Rose

One Black Rose

A Poem by Skrautla

I see a lot of beautiful red roses
But right there in between
Is one black rose
The darkest black colour
You have ever seen
All the red roses
Surround the black one
And you feel like they want to
Drive the black rose away
But it stays put
Not letting those red roses get to it
“stay strong” I whisper
Hoping that it can hear me
Slowly I see the black one giving up
It’s like it’s sad in some way
Its head is drooping down
While the red ones keep their head up high
They're proud of their colour
After a while the black one dies
It disappears
And the red ones don’t care
I feel sad for the black one

That black rose was me
