Faded Pieces

Faded Pieces

A Story by Sleep Practice

A black car drives by

you are alone aside from the voice in your head

the one that tells you to do things

things like bury your dog before it dies

or to ignore that piece of food on the dish and just put it in the cupboard with the clean ones anyways

no one will notice

A black car drives by

You are alone aside from the person next to you

The person who isnt really there

And isnt even really a person

But that doesnt make it any less real

A black car stops across the street

You are not alone

It waits there

And watches you through tinted windows

You hear him listening to you

Even though you arent speaking

it is dark out

so very dark

there is no moon

there are no stars

but there is a black car

and it knows you

it knows everything you have done

and everything you will ever do

it is cold outside

your mind is filled with blank spots

the car comes for you

you run but you dont know where to

you turn

and turn

but there are no lights

there is no life

something moves in front of you

and darkness follows
