Settling dust ~ 9/11

Settling dust ~ 9/11

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

The dust still scurries to settle
even after all these years -
wounds heal, but scars remain

Memories of loved ones
have grown yellow and white
while the wind blows dust up, again

One memory fights with another -
"Who are you to say that I've healed?"
and runs and hides
behind walls of brokenness

Hope has become an outcast
and traded for bland suspicion
there's no war, but the battle rages on

Time may not be a healer this time
for pain gives birth to pain -
the cycle of death, remains

guess the memories always haunt us isn't it..

B
I still feel pain
Watching the kids of the victims of this massive crime
It was such an unfair tragedy
And this picture brings goosebumps all over my body
