So close, but yet so far

So close, but yet so far

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

So close, but yet so far

Knees rebel, hope escaped

But reach I will, will I?

Maybe the heart of the house

Will run to me

And make my soul its home

Maybe a field of wheat

Will spring up right here

And feed my stubborn depths

The bread of life

I refused to have in death -

So close, but yet so far.

SleeplessVolcano
Painting by Andrew Wyeth, "Christina's World"......I saw this, for the first time, under a poem years ago. I forgot the poem, but the image stayed.......
