The sound of your voice

The sound of your voice

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

I forgot the sound of your voice

Like an old out of tune piano

I forgot that time

Can steal the sound of love.

I heard a forgotten snippet

Of your voice in a foreign language

It sounded as strange

As rain in a desert

In silence, my dunes waited.

I tried to write a poem

Like you would have written it

But I couldn’t tune

The guitar in your head

The same way you mastered mine.

I forgot the sound of your voice

I guess I will now leave

That sound-proof room of silence

Where our poetic laughter

Once echoed, and then, no more.

When words fade or worse still, disappear, love loses its core - especially when and if that absence is used as a weapon Such a sadness here - cleverly stressed by a picture showing such a mucky and careless sense of abandoment. 'I forgot the sound of your voice ~ I guess I will now leave
That sound-proof room of silence~ Where .. '
