The colors of love

The colors of love

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

My soul bled blue that day
those goodbyes sucked me dry
I'll forget, come what may
I lied to this gray sky.

My hope bled brown once more
sinking into dead soil
if I knock on hell's door
will I be spared this toil?

My song bled silence, then
the tune, of love, unsung
so now, will sing, my pen
of when love's piercings stung.

My heart bled red one night
when dusty letters spoke
of solitude's great flight
when in warm arms I woke.

I like the way you have introduced colour to convey your emotions, blue, gray brown. But then the warmth of red in your final stanza is far more uplifting. Nicely done.

you hit all the senses Volcano! this line in particular strikes me:
"I lied to this gray sky." ...how foolishly we fool our selves eh!? and your closing brings warmth and a sense of comfort tho its only those dusty letters that bring the good memories :( took me a couple reads to get into the rhymes and rhythms ... did you have to work hard at them? I do ;)
