An avalanche of hope

An avalanche of hope

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

An avalanche of hope
snuck up on me
at midnight
it smothered me
in bucket loads of insomnia
I counted
half of Australia's sheep
by 4am
I was ready
when the sun
began to sing -
a zenith of hope,
energizing my soul.
I reached up to heaven
and seized the day.

I like both the tone and the brevity of expression in this one. We need all the uppers we can get these days. Nicely done.
