Casablanca

Casablanca

A Poem by Andromeda
"

love this movie!

"

Candied pears

Sticky

Sweet.

And

Holding hands in a

Summer that lasts

Forever.

A hundred years will pass

A hundred wrinkles As Time Goes By

A hundred pledges will leave

Just one

Always having Paris:

A black and white,

Beautiful,

Promise—

Hearts both repaired

And broken

As the sound of a plane engine

Dims,

Overcome by the wind

I'm a fan of Casablanca. And like the film this poem has a great end. It is one of those poems that grows stronger as it progresses. I'm not quite so convinced by the beginning. I would be tempted to start,

Holding hands in a
Summer that lasts
Forever.

Absolutely beautiful. Wonderfully penned. A job well done. Good luck in the contest.
