An Ode To My Grandfather

I miss you with every passing day..

I'll tell you a story of a warrior today
A man whom we shall cherish forever
And maybe I think you've guessed it right
I wrote one for my grandfather

My dada had a wonderful garden
The one he grew with his heart
It had small seedlings that now have matured
He gave our family a boosting start!

We are forever blessed to know someone like him
He had a personality in which we could confide
And I know you're watching us all dadu
So please do protect us and guide

I know where he is today, perhaps right now too
And I tell you, he isn't really far
Just look above to the night sky
He is the brightest shining star

He was the bravest person I've known
And I've seen him fight so hard
He was friend, a husband, a father
Moreover , he was our guard

There is so much we've all learnt from him
The difference between right and wrong
But the biggest lesson he might have given us
Was on how to stay strong

I'm so proud to know someone like him
Golden were the words he used to say
I am truly bossoming with respect
As we collect to remember him on this day

A lovely heart has stopped beating
And his hard working hands are put to rest
But I'm sure he wouldn't want us to grieve
As god always takes the best

Together we used to go for long walks
Over the horizons and across the seven seas
Both just went hand in hand
And now are a vision of ecstasy

And there may be moments
When we're confused on some days
But I know we shall get the solution
Because my dada will show us the way

There are so many thoughts in my mind
Tussling to find precedence
Yet no dictionary can fully describe
My grandfather's fun loving existence
