~Horizon's End

~Horizon's End

A Poem by Sophy Freebirds
"

For every smile curved,a cost must be paid in the end

"
Shivering soul, caressed by the stinging wind...
Unlocking my sight, opening my ignorant blind..
Flashing to the blurry grey Haven of Cloud,
Souls wander with a thirsty crimson shroud...

Brook of earthly tears flow...
Orange figures cling to it in a row...
With sewn lips ready to burst...
Trying to sate the unquenchable thirst...
Tears of repentance spill with agony...
Shakes the shadow in waking cacophony...
Blessing the ungrateful earth in vain...
Raining it with their sheer pain!!

Drifting along.....
Reaching the manna studded ground..
Shadows restlessly circle around...
It melts in their insensitive mouth...
Twitching their jaws into a scowl...
Fierce stare burning the rays of Sun...
It is just the way,it has always been done..

In this haunting abyss of Salvation we learn
How we wronged the talent to discern....
Floating in this vast stretch without bend....
Absorbing - the truth...
For every tear shed,
Every smile curved...
A cost must be paid behind
The horizon's end........

I am just simply enjoying all of your poems. I really feel humbled by your writing. I love writing and have written a few poems, but after reading poems like these, I can't figure out if I am inspired to learn how to write better or to give up all together. Its just simply amazing! You are very talented and I am glad that I have come across your poems.

Stephen just don't ever think of giving up writing.. Its the art which helps us express and dust off.. read more
HORIZEN'S END
The title is suggestive .The poetess applies deep sounding words to describe the natural beauty with touching imagery as the action takes place in front of our eyes. Lovely words float like "stining wind","ignorent blind","thirsty crimson" are all explanatory in this very first stanza...

"Shivering soul, caressed by the stinging wind...
Unlocking my sight, opening my ignorant blind..
Flashing to the blurry grey Haven of Cloud,
Souls wander with a thirsty crimson shroud... "

Again there are superfluous words we come across like,"earthly tears","orange figured","waking cacophony" are unique. The sadness is drawn rather than putting closely. The beauty of these words lie in their cleverly use...

"Brook of earthly tears flow...
Mystically created the picture here beautifully.

Drifting along.....
Reaching the manna studded ground..
Shadows restlessly circle around...
It melts in their insensitive mouth...
Twitching their jaws into a scowl...
Fierce stare burning the rays of Sun...
It is just the way,it has always been done..
The last stanza conludes the earth and life being surrounded with a stretching abyss where we stand to obserb the reason of sorrows and suffering to mankind. See how nice this stanza is!

In this haunting abyss of Salvation we learn
How we wronged the talent to discern....
Floating in this vast stretch without bend....
Absorbing - the truth...
For every tear shed,
Every smile curved...
A cost must be paid behind
The horizon's end........

So this is really a very nice piece of poetic dish served . Though your images are wordy and full with length..Thanks ..Keep writing..
WISH YOU A HAPPY DIWALI

Welcome ..thanks..
You've created some wonderful images that drew me into the poem...but what I love the most is the classic feel to your words and the wonderful flow. Truly a brilliant piece of writing and a pleasure to read.

Awww..thank you so much :)
for every action there is an opposite action--

this reminds me of old time poetry in its format and wording...

like one of the classics...and you do this very well...

Thank you so much Jacob. You are so kind :)
This is a great piece! It drew me in, it was adorned with striking lines and a strong idea.
I really enjoyed, "Souls wander with a thirsty crimson shroud."

The only thing I wonder about is all of the ...'s in this. In my opinion, they don't add too much to the poem but that is only my opinion.

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Madison for your thoughtful review. I appreciate it :)
I really like what you've done here. You can see the emotion poor from the page, keeping the reader in shackles until they've finished. Awesome job

And she returns with a BANG! I 'felt' your words, that last stanza says it all, there's always blood, sweat and tears involved to the bitter end. Feel better sweet Sophy, you've been missed. xo
