Nightwalker

Nightwalker

A Poem by Spit_and_Prayers

Time ticks silently on

As rude ruminations ramble

Through the crude creeping

Nature of a nocturnal life

Slinking shadows shift form

Flowing through the sanguine sighs

Of a nurturing night

Turning freedom into fright

A pallid peace is slowly

Peeled from the silent solitude

Of a damned soul donning

The silken cap of death

Lost

Light bleeds to Black

Found the Nightwalker

----

Beautiful use of imagery incorporated into this piece. Your magnificent narration makes me want to know more about the main character within this poem. I'd like to see this piece extended into a story or even a novel, because the details and description are most excellent. You leave the reader hungry for more. Maybe you could get into flashback where the main character is talking about his or her life before death. What lead up to this character becoming a soul of the damned. Then from there, bring the reader back into the present, as the main character in the story progresses on his or her journey, perhaps trying to figure out his or her own existence, and why tragedy has happened to him or her.
