SnowglobeA Poem by Delilah DunnWritten Fall 2008I hold my breath and wait To know why I am here Why my velvet passion flows Over the undeserving who see right through My transparent shield An attemt to hide my inferiority And sadness
Familiarity is my desperate goal Though all that has been beloved is gone Dissolved Like salt into hot liquid from the tap And I myself will fade Like clouds Like stars Like life into a blank white stare
Colors bleed as if entwined with humanity And my fingers shake Pale and piercingly cold Straining forth to touch the outside of the globe Glass does not bend But break And my fragile heart and very soul Break with it as I push to leave The realm of isolation I have entered
I am reaching for an unknown comfort An unseen hand An answer to a question That has not yet been asked Happiness is an illusion Unattainable within fragile confines That no one is willing to challenge © 2008 Delilah DunnReviews
