Waters Avowed

Waters Avowed

A Poem by StarryNights

Listen to the calm waves

That dance along the edge of shore

A wind whistling to a lonely ear

Singing of memories and the world

Feel the freedom in the coolness

Defying gravity in an underworld city

A weightless wonder

To something knowingly unknown

A strange place that will always give questions

With answers from the search

Color of blue

Of green

Of glistening sunlight that shines the surface

Like diamonds

A glistening sunlight that shines the surface

See the setting above

Find clear vision in the below

Smell the salt rising inside

Reach the sands of darkened white

Hear children laugh and splash

Jumping and diving together

Collecting the seashells

Together building sandcastles

Playing as waves slowly crash

Walk down the beach, to a dock

Let's find a seat and watch the show

Sunset is for ending the day but,

Is only the beginning of a new storybook tale

Where new colors dance along the top

Reds and oranges and pinks and yellows

Blending together for a perfect harmony

I love the imagery in this piece. I could picture the entire piece. You gave great descriptions on the scenary and I love the added detail about the children's laugh and the entwined colors. I got such a calming feel reading this and it brought a smile to my face. I want to go to the beach now and watch the sunset. :) Great poem! :)
