Ode To...

Ode To...

A Poem by Sorry Infamous

I want to outdue myself;
to replace
the words I stumble on
with gazes.
I wish I was wise
and that you would learn
more from me
then how to give
a thousand kisses
in a thousand places.
If only I could go slow
your presence is sturdy
but I know nothing of patience or pretence
when I am with you
my eyes are windows
and my hands are envious
of everything you hold
because this heart knows nothing of reason
it's disgraceful and tasteless
It is just a veil
because this love knows nothing...

You always write with such subtle glimpses that take us deep inside thoughts and feelings... Here, the surface of life, the reason, is undone by the richness of love.. something profoundly other... Beautifully done... Please write a book!

As I was reading this, I envisioned it being done in a format that... well that doesn't matter. I like your words and how you have some fairly cutting images and statements thrown in here. Bravo.

Oh snap! You called it out and slapped it down! Nice job!

If only I could go slow
your presence is sturdy
but I know nothing of patience or pretense -- Yeah, me either!

Great lines in this piece, each one almost a poem in and of itself, and I like that very much. This is going in My Favorites right this minute.

Nicely done....

more from me
then how to give
a thousand kisses
in a thousand places.

Love is so much more then knowing how to be affectionate... I really like this, again such a way with words... strong and intense poetry.
