Gulliver is Here

Gulliver is Here

A Poem by T. F. Rice
"

Inspired by a little kid's comments...

"

Gulliver is Here

I watch a tractor

roll over jaunty hills:

hills like shoulder blades.

Across the road

another climbs a tall,

round bump in the land:

a slow crawl for such big wheels.

I think I live in Lilliput,

but somebody buried Gulliver

long ago

and the farmers

have been reaping the

rewards:

silently smug to see

how Giants make

good plant feed.

Interesting! I think this is the first time I have seen poem that compared farm-land with a sleeping giant. This is very creative.
