Attraction

Attraction

A Poem by Tabby Mac
"

You know what I'm saying...

"
How come when I'm letting go, you are holding on?
And when I'm grasping with all my might…
You are like a breeze in the night.
We are like passing ships,
our waves meet and my heart skips.
Anticipation rises,
But as you reach the horizon…
I'm realizin’
We are in the same ocean
But alas there is no devotion.

Good for you!! Wishing you the best!!
'Like ships passing' this is a great metaphor and so aptly describes this finely penned poem's raison d'être, attraction is physical but without commitment, a relationship is destined to be dashed on rocks and inevitably sink!

Pertinently penned with creativity and panache!

Short, sharp, but still you know how to make these poems of yours very readable.

Short, sharp, but yet it holds a lot of depth and emotions behind the written words.

I love your poems Tabby, they are always worthy of my time. I only wish I could do them, but you know my laudry one was the best I will ever produce...lol.

Seriously, good work again. I will never tire of reading your work.

Mark.

I don't have anything to say specifically. I enjoyed it and it reminded me of a something I hadn't thought of or read about in a very long time. . .

"Ships that pass in the night and speak each other in passing, Only a signal shown and a distant voice in the darkness; So on the ocean of life we pass and speak one another, Only a look and a voice, then darkness again and a silence." Henry Wadsworth Longfellow 'Tales of a Wayside Inn'
