Attraction

Attraction

A Poem by Tabby Mac
"

You know what I'm saying...

"
How come when I'm letting go, you are holding on?
And when I'm grasping with all my might…
You are like a breeze in the night.
We are like passing ships,
our waves meet and my heart skips.
Anticipation rises,
But as you reach the horizon…
I'm realizin’
We are in the same ocean
But alas there is no devotion.

Thank you for your thoughts!

Short, sharp, but still you know how to make these poems of yours very readable.

Short, sharp, but yet it holds a lot of depth and emotions behind the written words.

I love your poems Tabby, they are always worthy of my time. I only wish I could do them, but you know my laudry one was the best I will ever produce...lol.

Seriously, good work again. I will never tire of reading your work.

Mark.

Your welcome :)
I don't have anything to say specifically. I enjoyed it and it reminded me of a something I hadn't thought of or read about in a very long time. . .

"Ships that pass in the night and speak each other in passing, Only a signal shown and a distant voice in the darkness; So on the ocean of life we pass and speak one another, Only a look and a voice, then darkness again and a silence." Henry Wadsworth Longfellow 'Tales of a Wayside Inn'

Thank you my friend!

The ways of the heart and the wants of a woman,
to figure them all out will take many years … LOL!

Tabby,
It is written that for every boy and girl their is a soul-mate, a person with whom they harmonize in perfect enough pitch they can live together in harmony and bliss, and as beautiful as this feels to a romantic's senses, poetry refutes it, as yours so eloquently and concisely does here.
Still, the primal urge is so strong within, despite that we might fail time after time, we keep trying and not giving-up until we succeed, or die yearning and dreaming of it.
I could quibble on a coupl'a issues, but I'm leaving well-enough alone. ; )

I love your poetic voice in this one, Tabby, so lightly poignant, almost cute and spicy in its nuance, you've said so much in so few lines … hugs 'n happiness to ya! ⁓ Richard

Short, dramatic and all too true. This could be the charted course of my love life. Thanks for putting into words what so many of us feel.
