regrets of a person when dying...

If only I’d n’t toiled

Too hard

If only I’d spent, also spared time

With friends and family

If only I’d lived

The way I wanted to

If only I’d been more contented

And showed gratitude for what I’d got

If only I’d confessed my affection

Aloha Tazeen, regret can linger for a long time, if we can't muster the courage to say what we really mean to do what we mean to do and so on regret will linger. I can with certainly tell you that you affection for them would have been known an acceptance that needs no proof. A really well written poem. Izzy

the last moment catches up with us fast. The comfort in the last line is provided...Be assured with no regrets that affections sometimes need not to be confessed, they are just known. Great Poem that really reached me at a personal level and surely the audience universally.

"I wish" gets you nowhere unless a genie has appeared from an old oil lamp and offered them to you. If you feel it, say it, if you want to do it, do it, life's to short for regrets.
