Eternal Voyage

Eternal Voyage

A Poem by The Golden Pen
"

A poem written for my husband on our tenth Wedding Anniversary

"
As I turn another leaf of my life’s journal,
I lift my quill and scribe in blood thy name.
With joy I tell the world our Love Story.
With joy my whole hand glides with happiness;
As words turn to paragraphs I write of love.
Eager to tell the world this blessed tale.

On an autumn day so began this tale
Two ships that in the evening sun met
By chance upon a moonlit ocean blue;
Guided by some strange unforeseen power
Our fate was sealed on that historic night.
From that night our two lives meld together;

Our hearts set sail upon a golden journey;
Towards the sea of love, destiny set our course.
The stars guiding our vessel safely, we sailed on
Two ships that in the evening sun met
From then on our lives have shared adventure
Our journey at times haven’t been quite smooth

Yet day by day we have survived to tell the tale
Through the storms our vessel rides the waves
Our love has stood the test of time and won
Ten years ago we started this journey
On a voyage upon this enterprise;
Our course guided by a power from above.

As each dawn arises in the eastern sky,
Our covenant renews itself once more
‘Tis you, my captain, that steers my vessel;
You alone command my ship eternally;
You’re the master of my course forever more
Our love will echo from every shore.
