The Lesser Evil

The Lesser Evil

A Poem by J. E. Letan

There's a Lesser Evil inside of you and me
And a Greater Evil that's apparent to see
But perspective skews what we perceive
In our hearts our thoughts and in our dreams
Choose the Lesser Evil, we are wont to think
Rather be a lawyer than lost in the drink.

It comes down to a choice
Between bad and worse
But what's really the hardest is deciding whats first
No one can give a perfect say
In the Lesser Evil  of a fucked up day.

So I wont bother
In dealing with such
The Lesser Evil is not in my thoughts
I do as I please
Think as I may
And if I be Evil to Hell with my ways

Some days in life decisions must be made
Your Lesser Evil is not so vague
You take a deep breath
Solidify your choice
Your heart feels guilty
Your head with remorse

This was such an interesting poem, and truly sums up a feeling I have often had - which decision is the right one - how is one supposed to know? It's all very well afterwards, when one is perhaps older and wiser, but one is still faced with decisions where one doesn't know which one is best ... perhaps one needs to be more positive and trust one's own judgement. Still some very well written thoughts!
Very well written!

Amazing, just amazing. Your capabilities astound me. It's a continuous struggle to differentiate between right and wrong, but in the end it's just a matter of opinion.
