Into The Dark

Into The Dark

A Poem by t.m.
"

Previously 'A Prayer For Permission To Sin'.

"

We fell victim to a prayer,

A wish made with hands clasped together.
How cold was I to follow you.

How cruel were you to lead me.

I fell from the tallest tower into your flesh composed of silk,

Heart positioned neatly on my sleeve,

Where you took it from me and swore to never leave.

Liars and beggars lined up and you sold me without thinking twice.

Before you left me on the side of the street,

Hungover and stumbling to the pavement.

No bottle was left empty, no drug was out of the question.

We were a chemical reaction.

Anything but the truth.

We were a lie, together forever never went as planned.

My hopes were high, too high.

A loud crash that was lost in the noise.

Tears of glass cut through porcelain skin and fell to the floor.

The sharpest words cut through and pierced a heart.

I had no shield when the knives were thrown.

I bled to death on gold.

Author's Note

t.m.
I'm anything but satisfied with this... I can do better.
It's kind of a continuation of This Light Is Not Hope...Of the pair who had an extremely damaging relationship..I'll probably change parts of it at some point.
In This Light Is Not Hope, I had two separate relationships being represented, and still staying true to that (in a way), I have another piece that I'll be posting when it's finished.

~ excruciating experiences create a lot of negative energy... the only way to deal with negative energy is by turning it into artistic expression... this is an exquisite piece of poetry... and you've succeeded in transforming pain into art... ~ excellent work...
