A Poem by Beatrice Mars

He got no
Heirs (Or graces)

She's out in
The cold,
Out cold.

While he's looking
For the downwards
Arrow,
Wondering what
To write,
He realises
What he
Meant
To
Say.

(I love you?
Pah, no, what do you think this is?)

The end is great,
But you gotta
Wait for it.

*

She also had
Something
To say,
But she forgot,
So now she's
Cold.

(*Damn, I'd better write a
Good ending to this thing.)

The Heir is
Cold.

(Somebody else - You think you're
                 the first to do this?
                 Play with words and
                 Sentence structure, break
                 The fourth wall?

Somebody else - Are you sure that's
                 what's happening?

 Persona - I don't know.

Somebody else - Who's talking now?

Persona - How the hell should I know?

 Somebody else - Well...

 Persona - I'm just a persona!

Somebody else - Oh (Pause) Sorry...)

Something a bit different now.
(The presenter
Roared
To the
Audience.)
(He whispered as
He pulled her hair away
From her neck.)

Just keep on walking,
I know you're Looking at me,
'Cause I'm looking
At you.

Swishy (my) hair

He ran his lips
Over her neck,
And tried to
Explain
(The)ir
World.

Magnificent and
Eager,
She awaits
Her execution,
Though she is wounded, it never comes.

(He has asked her before now,
If she really wants to be here.)

            It would have been
            Better if she'd died.

Character - But that's horrible

            The story would have been
            Better like that.

Character - But..

            It's only a story, we're just characters.

            (pause)

(As if talking to a child.) We're not real.

Character - Still...

He has a
Question he needs to
Ask
(But the writers
Don't know what it is yet.)
He needs her final
Answer.

But she's out in the
Cold,
Out cold.

Her final Answer
(To the unasked question.)
Is a smile,
Before she runs
To somewhere
Warmer.
(Boy - ) "Are you sure," He
               Shouts after her, "After
               All, It's only-" But his
               Voice is lost on the
               Wind
               And
               She keeps on running.

(Somewhere warmer.)

                    (Her final answer.)

I love the way you structured this. I have a huge respect for people that can do a lot with very little. Sometimes people use "crazy structures" to their poetry and it does nothing but make it redundant and takes away from what they're actually trying to say. I think the way you did this, and the character(s) that are in it, made this flow really well and the way it's structured actually looks like how the poem might have looked when it was in your head as opposed to on the page. I love the talking about the fourth wall and breaking it in almost a sarcastic tone. That actually made me smile.
Well done. I'm glad I stopped by and read this.
