Too Good at lying.

Too Good at lying.

A Poem by Beatrice Mars

The times I didn't

Say

I love you,

After you said it first,

Were few and far between,

Because sometimes

I did (love you)

And the rest of the time

I was just

Too good at lying.

You were

Forever faithful,

Doting and

Worshipful.

I looked upon you

With disdain and

Took other men

To our bed.

You were easy to

Live with,

Sweet and caring

Until that last day.

You held my

Hand while I lay still,

Whispered

I love you

While I writhed in pain.

Your eyes were

Bright with your

Love for me.

My eyes were dull,

With nothing but death's

Lingering light.

You whispered

I love you,

But,

I couldn't reply in kind,

Not because

There was too much pain,

But because

It hurt too much.

Well done!

The concept is amazing. The capriciousness and unfaithfulness of the girl was a refreshing twist from all those other pieces that told about desperate love. Anyways, it's a nice read.

Keep Writing. ^___^

"You were easy to

This excerpt (did i spell that right?) stuck in my head. I really enjoyed reading this. I re-read it a million times and just felt the emotions pour in and settle deep down in. Thanks for the poem!

We can twist-up our mind and hearts with lies. A poem that told a powerful story. We can live in a false truth. Even the coldest of heart feel the pain. I like the story and the ending was very good. A excellent poem.
