"Forgive Me Please; For I Have Brought You Pain"

"Forgive Me Please; For I Have Brought You Pain"

A Poem by Tommy
"

A Sonnet/Acrostic

"
Atonement's pain bear immense in Gethsemane;

the Master knelt down and as He prayed humbly;

oh, "If thou be willing, remove this cup from me:

never the less not my will, but thine be done." He

enter into agony, praying earnestly.

For "Sweat was as it were great drops of blood;" lonely

on this night He endure misery none doth see;
regretfully I have used temptations' journey.

My transgressions lead way for how I be received;

yet, He offers me forgiveness so readily.

Saying, "thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace."Sure

intense my heart doth shake. Lure is woe the deceived;

need I tremble for the wrath of God? Inaptly

souls like mine befallen astray brought forth anguish pure.

I don't know where to begin. Definitely my favorite of your writings. In one simple line you convey such emotion and are able to tell a complete story. I am amazed at that. Regretfully, I have used temptations journey. My transgressions lead way for how I be received. Wow. My life in a nutshell. Actually, for me, It is the best poem I have read on here, and I don't say that lightly. Should inaptly have been ineptly or is there a meaning I am ignorant of?

You did this wonderfully. You picked really special verses from the bible. I like the details you spun into this.

I found this piece to be extremely profound...a testament of ones faith is only valid through a trial of fires...for who would punish the transgressor more than the transgressor himself.

Contemplative work.

I absolutely love works like this. One of my favorite poems I've read on here. The picture gives it so much effect, and there is just so much biblical nostalgia while still maintaining originality.

Great work. 100/100
