Remove my darkness

If I could wipe away
The darkness of my mind
Of thoughts, insults
Of any kind

I'd close my eyes
And start to cry
Let darkness leave
In rivulets from thine eyes

Clear away the dark
Wipe the slate clean
Start anew, refreshed
Allow only light to be seen

But sadly and of truth
My darkness cannot leave
My eyes hold darkness
And no light can be seen

So I flip the switch
And then on the lights
Darkness hiding in shadows
Haunting me all the nights
